VoIP
A Voice over Internet Protocol system, or VoIP, allows you to make calls using the Internet rather than using a traditional phone analog phone line. VoIP is a popular alternative to using standard telephone lines because of its feature-rich flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
Benefit and Uses
A VoIP system can save your business time and money when installed properly and combined with a fast, secure IT network.

Why choose a VoIP system?
- Portability: You can access your VoIP system anywhere you have an Internet connection, which means you can easily connect with staff and clients even when you’re travelling or working from home.
- Connectivity: You can also connect to your VoIP system using your smartphone, tablet, computer, or an analog phone.
- Cost Savings: A VoIP system can be significantly more cost-effective than other communication systems.
- Availability: Never miss a call or be unable to place a call again; unlike traditional PBX systems based on analog phone lines, your VoIP System will always answer incoming calls using an auto-attendant, and you will always be able to place a call regardless of how many lines are being used in the system.
- Flexibility: With VoIP, you have an unlimited number of phone lines; you are only limited by your bandwidth. With a traditional PBX system, you have to pay for more phone lines as your business grows.
- Functionality: Audio calls, video calls, conference calls, and videoconferencing are all options with a VoIP system, giving you and your team flexibility in hosting and attending meetings from multiple locations.
Installations
VoIP installations are fast and simple, and at Freebird Solutions, we never require a contract or long-term commitment. Once your phones are configured either remotely or at your office, the phones can be used anywhere with a wired internet connection. Moving desks? Working from home? No problem, just plug in and keep working.

VoIP installations include ongoing online support and no contract. Changes to system configuration can be made via our cloud-based PBX server or by email support ticket. We also offer an end-user portal for a variety of advanced features.
Cloud-Based Phone System
For businesses that are considering moving into new markets, a cloud-based system allows you to offer your customers a local phone number to call without the need to establish a new location. For businesses that are growing quickly, a cloud-based system allows quick and easy upgrades that can keep up with your business growth.

A cloud-based phone system has all the features of the best telephone and voicemail systems with no equipment to buy, maintain, or outgrow. All the advanced functionalities of a standard PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system are provided to you through our cloud-based server. Our Cloud-Based PBX is fully maintained in our core Toronto data centre.
Why use a Cloud-Based PBX Phone System?
- Unlimited Inbound Lines: We offer an unlimited amount of inbound lines so you no longer have to purchase a specific amount of lines that will remain unused the majority of the time.
- IVR/Virtual Auto Attendant: An indispensable part of almost any business, using an Auto Attendant ensures that your customers can always reach the right party and have easy access to information.
- Custom Company Greeting: Your customers will know they have reached the right place immediately, and then your IVR will announce employee and department extensions to allow callers to select the appropriate extension.
- Multi-Level IVR: You’re no longer limited to one or two branches in your IVR as you are with a standard phone system – you can create as many as you need.
- Voicemail Delivery to Email: With each new voice message, the mailbox user can be notified by email that they have a new message waiting; you will also have the option to have an attached audio file of the message. This means no calling in to your voicemail while you are travelling. Voicemails can also be forwarded to your cell phone or other device.
- Extensions: Each extension comes with advanced voicemail with email notifications and custom greetings, Internet fax, answering rules, and advanced call forwarding. Extensions can also play announcements, eliminating the need to answer the phone for commonly requested information such as your hours of operation.
- Simple Functionality: Edit, add, or remove extensions at any time without any special training, expensive specialists, or valuable IT resources.
- Link Multiple Locations: Unify all your offices under one phone system and eliminate long-distance charges between branches. Three- to five-digit extensions will contact anyone in your enterprise.
- Dial-by-Name Directory: Search functionality can be set by first or last name to make it easy for callers to find your employees. Staff can be reached anywhere on any of their devices when callers find them in your dial-by-name directory. You can also choose the extensions you’d like to include in your company directory with a single click to exclude staff members who don’t want to receive unscreened calls.
- Customized Greeting: Welcome callers with a custom company greeting or a promotional message.
- Call Screening: Before an incoming call is connected, caller ID information appears on your phone’s display and the Softphone (a software phone to handle calls through WiFi). You can also configure your company’s IVR to prompt callers for their name so you can identify the caller before they connect to you and permanently block specific numbers so they can never bother your company again.
- Call Queue: Inbound calls to your salespeople can be put in a queue if all your people are already on calls. The moment a salesperson becomes available, the call is directed to them.
- Virtual Fax: Incoming faxes can be sent to any email address, which will save paper; smartphones can then display faxes so you can work from anywhere. You can also send fax documents from Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive in minutes through your personal web portal.
- Web-Based Extension Manager: Control and configure your extension preferences and review your call history using the web.
- Call Recording: Record conversations with the touch of a button and review them later via your web portal, and email call recordings for ease of sharing.
- Conference Calling: Set up conference calls with multiple people anytime.
- Music on Hold: Customize each extension with its own selection of music and messages and announce new products, services, and events.
- Call Forwarding: Forward calls automatically to multiple phone numbers such as an office, home, or cell phone. Configure your system to ring your selected numbers in simultaneous or sequential order and define the number of times a phone rings before calls are forwarded to another device.
- Call Transfer: When receiving incoming calls, you can easily transfer callers to another extension or to any phone number. Before transferring the call, you can also announce the caller’s name or provide other relevant information to the transfer destination.
- Conference Rooms: This system provides a single conference bridge for easy access and use. Users have their own host and participant access code so you can hold conferences anywhere with up to 1,000 attendees. The host has the option to mute participants, get caller count, record conferences, and much more.
- CRM Links: With simple click-to-dial from within Salesforce, you can spend more time selling and servicing customers and less time finding contact information and dialling. This system also supports Vtrigger, or you can add your own web-based CRM.
- Phone Numbers (DID): Get additional numbers from almost any city for your service. Add numbers to your auto-attendant or dial directly to extensions, queues, voicemail, or information messages.
- Phone Number Availability: With the Cloud-Based PBX, you can keep your existing phone number when you move to a VoIP phone system or choose a virtual phone number in an area code from any one of a select list of cities.
