Wired Networks
Modern business applications demand speed and security above all else. Our network cabling division specializes in the design, installation and implementation of physical network infrastructure to give you the fastest and most secure data transmission network. Many general contractors and IT firms turn to Freebird Solutions to deliver fast, stable, and reliable wired networks for clients of all sizes.
Our team goes beyond simple pin-to-pin network testing. Every installation is certified using our Ethernet Speed Certifier to guarantee that each data drop will deliver the expected reliability, speed, and bandwidth. We then provide a printed report along with a network map to explain all work done on-site and back up our work with a 10-year infrastructure warranty. Our professional data cabling comes with full testing, labelling, and speed certification, as well as site diagrams.
Our teams are trained to deliver the following networks:
- CAT5e: Cat5e is a specification designed for data networks that supports general business applications such as file transmission, web browsing, and VoIP. In most cases, it will also support video conferencing. Cat5e can deliver high-speed data transmission such as Gigabit Ethernet at a bandwidth of 100Mhz.
- CAT6: Cat6 is a specification designed for use in next-generation data communications networks and will comfortably support all present applications including Gigabit Ethernet up to 250Mhz. This data network is suitable for high-bandwidth applications that require an increased data throughput such as video conferencing, data hosting, CAD, photo & video editing, and working in real-time with large files.
- CAT7: CAT7 is a specification designed for use in backbone communications networks and is capable of 10-gigabit data transfer up to 100 metres at 550Mhz. This specification is not commonly used and is a higher-priced option to deploy, test, and certify.
- Fibre Optics: Freebird Solutions has partnered with fibre-optic specialists to provide a single point of contact for all your physical cabling needs. Our team of partners provides fibre-optics cabling and termination expertise. Fibre Optic services include installation, termination, and splicing, and all work is inspected and certified with the latest testing equipment.
Benefits & Uses
The advantages of a wired transmission network focus on the safety and security of your data as well as its ease of use.

Why use a wired network?
- Wired networks are faster than wireless networks, which is especially important for transmission of large amounts of data.
- It is harder to access a wired network without authorization, so your data is more secure.
- Network speeds are typically unaffected by environmental factors such as other wireless networks, overhead wires, and transformers or other sources of electromagnetic interference, which translates to increased reliability for your day-to-day operations.
- Wired networks can cover a large area and remain unaffected by walls and floors; once computers are plugged in, they are easy to connect.
- An uninterrupted data flow means you can focus on all the other important aspects of your business.
Installations
Like all Freebird Solutions installations, our flexible schedule minimizes disruption to your work.

Freebird Solutions’ installation of wired networks always includes:
- Quality materials: We use quality cable that is made in Canada.
- Documentation: We fully document our work for future service including a full network map for the administration team to refer to.
- Certification: Every network we build is tested and certified. Ethernet speed certification ensures each data drop is certified to deliver the reliability, speed, and bandwidth that is expected. We then provide a printed report along with the network map to back up our work.
- Warranty: Our networks are backed by a 10-year infrastructure warranty on unmoved, unchanged data drops.
Lifetime email support: You can always reach out for our help via email.
